Youth Leadership Initiative

For more information, read below:

What is it?  The Interfaith Youth Leadership Initiative is open to current high school students who are interested in partnering with other area youth to learn more about interfaith, justice, and taking action in your community. Groups meet to discuss social justice topics and consider action steps that could be taken in our communities. Topics to be discussed will decided by the student groups, but may include:  migration, diversity and inclusion, environmental justice, violence, and Interfaith relations.

Which schools are involved? We currently have one interfaith youth group at Saint Joseph High School and one at Lakeshore High School. However, students from any school are welcome to apply, joining in with one of the already established groups or starting their own at their school. Besides meeting as individual school groups, we meet as a large, collective group once a month.

How do I apply? If you are currently a high school student, are active in a faith community, and want to develop leadership skills in the areas of interfaith cooperation and work for justice, please e-mail the following to swmichinterfaithaction@gmail.com.
