Dignity of All: January Updates
The Dignity of All working group focuses on the promotion of equality for all people no matter their race, gender, sexuality, or socioeconomic status. With two priority areas of focus, anti-bullying and nondiscrimination legislation, so far this year the Dignity for All working group has:
Identified Restorative Justice Practices as a successful method to replace zero-tolerance policies
Met with Mary Jo Schnell at OutCenter to begin collaborative relationship.
Embarked on a camping partnership with Tiny Houses for Big Change
Submitted a letter of support to City of Saint Joseph’s current work to write a nondiscrimination ordinance with specific wording to include LGBT peoples.
While this is a short update, the work of Dignity for All is making strides to ensure dignity for all people in Southwest Michigan.
